LIGHTER ZIPPO MAZZI

George G. Blaisdell founded the Zippo Manufacturing Company in 1932, and produced the first Zippo lighter in early 1933, inspired by an Austrian lighter of similar design. The lighter got its distinctive name because Mr. Blaisdell liked the sonority of the word 'zipper' and associated it with the noise the lighter makes when opened. The product was patented in 1936. Zippo lighters are known for their lifetime warranty and every Zippo carries on the body of the lighter when the casing is removed a notice that says "Use only Zippo stones, wick and gasoline". Zippo is an icon of American culture, lighters are recognized worldwide.

George G. Blaisdell fundó la Zippo Manufacturing Company  en 1932, y produjo el primer encendedor Zippo a principios de 1933, inspirándose en un encendedor austriaco de diseño similar. El mechero obtuvo su nombre característico debido a que al señor Blaisdell le gustaba la sonoridad de la palabra 'zipper' y la asoció al ruido que produce el encendedor al ser abierto. El producto se patentó en 1936. Los encendedores Zippo son conocidos por su garantía de por vida  y todo Zippo lleva en el cuerpo del mechero al retirar la carcasa un aviso que dice «Usar solo piedras, mecha y gasolina Zippo». Zippo es icono de la cultura americana, son encendedores reconocidos mundialmente.
